The Ministry of Government Relations is seeking an Accounting Clerk to join the Northern Municipal Services finance team in La Ronge. This permanent full-time opportunity supports the administration of the Northern Municipal Trust Account and offers varied experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, property tax administration, payroll, capital asset tracking, and financial operations. The ministry is looking for individuals committed to accountability, innovation, collaboration, inclusiveness, adaptability, and public service excellence. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and able to work effectively in a team environment while managing multiple priorities. They should demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities, sound judgment, and a commitment to continuous improvement and quality service delivery. Candidates must have knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS), and the Government Financial Administration Manual (FAM). Experience with financial software, Adobe Pro, and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel including formulas, formatting, and pivot tables, is required. Knowledge of GST, PST, payroll legislation, and municipal legislation is considered an asset. Strong communication, digital, data analysis, organizational, and resource management skills are essential. Responsibilities include analyzing financial and tax information, resolving payment and receivable issues, conducting audits, supporting financial reporting and forecasting, ensuring compliance with accounting policies and legislation, and contributing to the development of internal procedures and controls.
